City Releases 2013 Spring Clean-Up Schedule

Alexandria residents who receive city refuse collection are eligible to receive a spring cleanup pickup in April.

Residents are encouraged to clear out household clutter and place unwanted bulky trash and metal items at the curb on their neighborhood collection date. The city is divided into four collection zones, and each zone is assigned a specific Saturday. 

Most of West End Alexandria falls into zone 4, and pickup in that zone is April 27.

Metals should be separated from other collection items and will be picked up during a separate collection. Visit alexandriava.gov/SolidWaste to view a map of neighborhood collection dates.

Also, orders can now be placed for mulch delivery in April and May. Delivery dates and times are limited, and appointments are on a first come, first served basis.

Mulch is free to residents and available for pick up 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Saturday at 4215 Eisenhower Ave.  There is a $40 delivery charge for a half truck load and full load. For more information visit alexandriava.gov/YardWaste.
