'Dangerously Low' Wind Chills Coming to Alexandria

Frigid temperatures are coming to the West End Alexandria area this evening.

A low of 7 degrees will come to the area Monday night, the National Weather Service reports.

Tuesday, temperatures will reach a high of about 16 degrees.

That is combined with west winds of 17 to 21 miles per hour with wind gusts up to 31 miles per hour. The wind chill values will be as low as -9.

“Dangerously low wind chills could then lead to frostbite and hypothermia Monday evening through Tuesday,” the weather service warns

As a result, the weather service issued a wind chill advisory from midnight Monday through 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Wednesday brings some relief with mostly sunny skies and a high near 31 degrees.
