A Leesburg high school student died Friday from complications related to the flu, according to news reports. Katie Giovanniello, a 16-year-old sophomore at Heritage High School, was diagnosed by a doctor Feb. 2 with influenza B.

High School Students Lead $150K Fundraising Effort To Cure Cancer

Two sisters attending Woodson High School and fellow students are raising money to find a cure for cancer as part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2020 Student of the Year campaign.
