Opening Soon: The Fresh Market at Bradlee Shopping Center

Specialty grocery store The Fresh Market will open in at the Bradlee Shopping Center on Jan. 29, according to The Wall Street Transcript.

The Fresh Market is moving into the former Giant grocery store space at 3680 King St. The Giant closed in June 2013 after 59 years in business at the location.

"We are excited to open our new store in Alexandria and to expand our reach in Virginia," TFM president Craig Carlock told The Wall Street Transcript. “We look forward to introducing The Fresh Market's concept of quality perishables, excellent customer service and a unique atmosphere to an expanded customer base, and we look forward to offering neighboring communities a rewarding new food shopping experience."

The new location will open its doors at 8 a.m. Jan. 29. The opening festivities will include chef demos, fresh samples and prize drawings. The first 1,000 customers will receive a sample-size bag of the company’s coffee and a reusable shopping bag.

The new store, The Fresh Market’s 12th in Virginia, will include a bakery, meat counter, a produce selection with hundreds of items and a large selection of organic choices.
