Police Reports: Multiple Fraud Cases

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Alexandria police are investigating several cases of fraud reported this past week in West End Alexandria.

On March 12, a victim in the 5700 block of Reading Avenue reported someone stole her wallet and credit card from her friend’s apartment, then used the credit card without her permission to purchase several items. An arrest was made in the case, according to police.

The next day, a complainant in the 5800 block of Duke Street reported someone used his or her personal credit card information. That case remains open, police reported.

On March 14, a victim in the 4900 block of Seminary Road reported being the victim of a false pretense or confidence game. That case is under investigation, according to police.

On March 15, a person in the 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway told police an unknown suspect used personal credit card information to make fraudulent purchases, police reported.

March 12

• 9:07 a.m. March 12, 5700 block of Reading Avenue, fraud, open.
• 1:31 p.m. March 12, 6000 block of Tower Court, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s broke the left side back door window of his vehicle.
• 4:54 p.m. March 12, 5900 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, arrest. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 2:03 p.m. March 12, 5900 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, arrest. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 10:07 a.m. March 12, 4500 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect stole her wallet from the bar she was sitting at.

March 13

• 2:15 a.m. March 13, 4700 block of Kenmore Avenue, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 9:13 a.m. March 13, 5400 block of Sheffield Court, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending. Unknown suspect/s smashed the passenger side rear vent window of victim's vehicle.
• 6 a.m. March 13, 200 block of North Jordan Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
• 8:33 a.m. March 13, 3800 block of West Braddock Road, larceny/theft, pending. Parent of victim reported unknown suspect stole her son's cell phone from his backpack while he was in the restroom.
• 9:07 a.m. March 13, 3500 block of King Street, larceny/theft, pending. Victim inadvertently left his cell phone at the store at this location, and when he returned to retrieve the phone, it was gone.

March 14

• 1:48 p.m. March 14, 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway, assault open.
• 9:51 p.m. March 14, 600 block of North Paxton Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open. Victim reported known subject damaged his vehicle's windshield by banging a coffee cup against it.
• 9:45 p.m. March 14, 100 block of Century Drive, larceny/theft, arrest. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 3:24 p.m. March 14, 4600 block of Taney Avenue, assault, arrest.
• 10:32 p.m. March 14, 3500 block of King Street, larceny/theft, pending. Subject reported he lost his wallet while at the gas station at this location. The wallet was found and turned in at the gas station, but without the cash that was originally in it.

March 15

• 8:38 p.m. March 15, 4800 block of Kenmore Avenue, larceny/theft, open.
• 5:17 p.m. March 15, 5000 block of Seminary Road, assault, open.
• 10:11 a.m. March 15, 5900 block of Quantrell Avenue, motor vehicle theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his vehicle from the lot at this location.

• 10:57 a.m. March 15, 400 block of South Whiting Street, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 4:34 p.m. March 15, 5300 block of Eisenhower Avenue, destruction/damage/vandlaism of property, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s smashed the rear window of his vehicle.

March 16

• 12:59 a.m. March 16, 5700 block of Harwich Court, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, open. Victim reported the father of her children damaged the vehicle by kicking in the rear passenger side door, causing a dent.
• 2:21 a.m. March 16, 5600 block of Derby Court, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 3:12 a.m. March 16, 400 block of North Armistead Street, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 11:45 a.m. March 16, 6100 block of Edsall Road, larceny/theft, open.
• 11:33 p.m. March 16, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.
• 11:01 a.m. March 16, 5400 block of Duke Street, motor vehicle theft, pending.
• 9:59 a.m. March 16, 5300 block of Duke Street, motor vehicle theft, pending.
• 9:20 a.m. March 16, 5300 block of Duke Street, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.
• 10:52 a.m. March 16, 4300 block of Raleigh Avenue, destruction/damage/vandalism of property, pending.

March 17
