Police Reports: Police Investigate Thefts

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Alexandria police are investigating multiple thefts that occurred this past week in West End Alexandria.

In one case, a resident of the 5400 block of Bradford Court reported a theft on April 9 of someone stealing her couch that was outside her apartment being prepared for cleaning. On April 6, a resident of the 3300 block of Wyndham Circle told police someone stole a FedEx-delivered package from in front of her apartment front door.

On April 7, someone in the 2400 block of North Hampton Drive reported her diamond ring was missing from her home and that she believed a babysitter used by the first time may have taken it.  The next day, a resident of the 6100 block of Edsall Road was arrested for “being drunk in public, stealing a flag and carrying a weapon.”

The following crimes were also reported as separate and unrelated incidents:

April 6

• 11:19 a.m. April 6, 5300 block of Knole Court, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her vehicle and stole a GPS unit and ipad from her vehicle parked in front of her residence.
• 6:54 p.m. April 6, 200 block of North Breckinridge Place, fraud, arrest. Three subjects were taken into custody for defrauding an innkeeper.
• 3:34 a.m. April 6, 5300 block of Holmes Run Parkway, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two people who were known to each other.

April 7

• 10:30 p.m. April 7, 4300 block of Seminary Road, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported having a large sum of money picked from his pocket by known subject.
• 1 p.m. April 7, 600 block of North Ripley Street, fraud, pending. Subject was a victim of a scam where he was to have won a large sum of money but had to send money to receive the award.
• 7:39 p.m. April 7, 5800 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, open. Victim reported losing his credit card and has discovered it has been fraudulently used several times.
• 8:54 p.m. April 7, 100 block of South Bragg Street, assault, open. Assault occurred between two or more people who had a prior relationship or were known to each other.

April 8

• 12:17 p.m. April 8, 5300 block of Knole Court, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her vehicle by unknown means and ransacked the interior while stealing a GPS unit, a box of clothing and jewelry. At about the same time her husband's tires were slashed on his vehicle but not previously reported to police.
• 4:14 p.m. April 8, 100 block of South Bragg Street, larceny/theft, open.
• 1:23 a.m. April 8, 4600 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole his front license plate from his vehicle while it was parked in the garage at this location.
• 11:42 a.m. April 8, 300 block of North Howard Street, larceny.theft, motor vehicle theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s attempted to steal his motorcycle by punching the ignition, but the battery was dead, preventing a start.
• 10 a.m. April 8, 4400 block of Raleigh Avenue, larceny/theft, pending. Unknown suspect/s entered victim's vehicle and stole cash, cables and a jacket.

April 9

• 7:10 a.m. April 9, West Braddock Road, motor vehicle theft, pending. Unknown suspect/s stole one of the vehicles belonging to the victim, and entered the other unlocked vehicle but did not take anything.
• 3:16 a.m. April 9, 900 block of North Van Dorn Street, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole the front license plate from her vehicle.
• 1:17 p.m. April 9, 200 block of Century Place, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered his vehicle by smashing the passenger side door window and ransacked the interior while stealing a company Blackberry and his own GPS unit and iPod.
• 2:20 p.m. April 9, 6000 block of Tower Court, larceny/theft, pending. Unknown suspect/s entered victim's vehicle by unknown means and stole a set of carving knives.
• 3 p.m. April 9, 5000 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, open. Unknown suspect/s stole victim's laptop left unattended at a workstation in the library at this location.
• 8:59 a.m. April 9, 4400 block of Raleigh Avenue, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s stole a USPS-delivered package from victim's residence front door.

April 10

• 8:57 p.m. April 10, 4600 block of King Street, larceny/theft, pending.
• 9:05 p.m. April 10, 400 block of South Van Dorn Street, burglary/breaking and entering, pending.
• 7:29 p.m. April 10, 4600 block of Duke Street, larceny/theft, pending. Shoplifting offense occurred at this location.
• 3:51 p.m. April 10, 6100 block of Edsall Road, larceny/theft, pending.

April 11

• 2:33 pm. April 11, 1700 block of Osage Street, larceny/theft, open.
• 10:18 a.m. April 11, 5100 block of Fillmore Avenue, assault, open.
• 3:11 p.m. April 11, 3300 block of King Street, assault, arrest.
• 11:53 p.m. April 11, 2200 block of North Beauregard Street, assault, open. Assault occurred between two people were known to each other.
• 12:26 a.m. April 11, 5400 block of Sheffield Court, assault, pending. Assault occurred between two or more people who were known to each other.
• 1:02 p.m. April 11, 500 block of South Van Dorn Street, fraud, arrest.
• 1:17 a.m. April 11, 300 block of South Reynolds Street, assault, open. Assault occurred between two or more people who were known to each other
• 12:06 p.m. April 11, 300 block of South Pickett Street, larceny/theft, pending. Unknown suspect/s stole victim's front and rear license plates from his vehicle as it was parked at this location.
• 8:15 a.m. April 11, 100 block of Martin Lane, larceny/theft, pending. Victim reported unknown suspect/s entered her unlocked vehicle parked in her residence driveway and ransacked the interior.

April 12
