St. Stephen’s Softball Pitcher Approaches Milestone

Alexis Sargent is getting ready for 1,000 career strikeouts.

Senior softball pitcher Alexis Sargent, a student at St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School in Alexandria, is approaching a big milestone.

Sargeant will soon complete 1,000 career strikeouts. She’s on pace to reach this milestone this week or next and is currently at 986 strikeouts. She had has thrown no fewer than 14 per game this season and averages 15 strikeouts per game.

Sargent is one of the top pitchers in the Washington area and was selected for the All-Met First team as a junior. She will play at the University of Pennsylvania next year.  

Once the milestone is reached, Alexis will become the first pitcher in St. Stephen's & St. Agnes School history and one of the very few in the Independent School League and metro area to have thrown 1,000 career strikeouts.

The team will celebrate her achievement with a brief ceremony after the game in which the milestone is reached.
