Used Book Sale at Beth El Hebrew Congregation
The Beth El Hebrew Congregation in Alexandria is hosting its 11th Annual Used Book Sale this week.
Looking for a good bargain on a book? The Beth El Hebrew Congregation in West End Alexandria is holding its 11th Annual Used Book Sale Jan. 13 and 14.
The congregation is located at 3830 Seminary Road. The hours of the book sale are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14.
The books are sorted by subject, and admission is free, except for an early admission event from 8:30 to 9 a.m. Sunday, which costs $10. Book dealers are welcome.

The annual book sale is an important fundraiser for the temple, said Rhoda Goldman, a co-fundraiser for the congregation. Goldman said she expects to have 10 to 15,000 books for sale this year. Most cost between 50 cents to $3.
“They can buy books, very current,” Goldman said. “A lot are very current or best-seller books. Why should they pay higher prices when they can get books in nice condition for a very nominal fee?”
