Winter Solstice, Photos with Santa, Holiday Market, and More Events this Weekend

The winter solstice, the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere, is this Saturday.

Get your photo taken with Santa from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Fire Station 201 at 317 Prince St. at the historic Old Town Alexandria firehouse. 

This is the last weekend for the Holiday Market at the Del Ray Artisans. Check out handmade work from local artists, ornaments, and bake sale items. The reception is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at 2704 Mount Vernon Ave.

The Workhouse Arts Center is presenting a Christmas Concert: O Holy Night Friday and Saturday. The performances are at 7:30 at the center at 9601 Ox Road. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for youth.
