Housing Market a Mixed Bag in Prince William County
New and active listings fell but overall sales improved considerably, according to statistics from Realtor Association for Prince William.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County's October housing market showed an uptick relative to a year ago but with fewer active listings, according to the Realtor Association of Prince William.
- Overall sales increased 16.5 percent, with 641 this year compared to 550 last year.
- The median prince rose to $329,000 from $313,450.
- New listings were down 13.7 percent, 776-899, with new pendings basically unchanged, 679-675.
- Active listings fell to 1,467 from 2,060.
Association president CEO April Thomas liked what she saw in the numbers.
"Much like the rest of Virginia, October sales in Prince William County reflect buyer eagerness to absorb inventory and take advantage of continued low financing rates," she said in a statement. "While new and active listings have fallen, the number of closed sales, new pendings and overall median price are encouraging for the season."
