3 Arrested After Tools Stolen From Midland School
The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said two men were seen on surveillance taking items from a fenced-off area.

MIDLAND, WA — Three people were arrested Sunday after tools were stolen from a Midland elementary school. Deputies from the Pierce County Sheriff's Department responded to a burglary call at Harvard Elementary School after two men were seen taking items from a fenced-off construction site at the school.
Deputies said the suspects ran away as they approached, jumping fences and shedding their jackets. When deputies caught up to them, one of the men said they were playing kickball. According to investigators, a large hole was cut in a fence near the school playground, and several power tools were taken from a locked storage building.
Deputies said they found a minivan waiting nearby with several toolboxes and a roll of copper wire inside. A 42-year-old man was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of burglary, theft, resisting arrest, and malicious mischief. A 49-year-old man was booked on suspicion of burglary and theft, and the van's driver — a 29-year-old woman — was arrested on suspicion of burglary, theft, and a felony DOC warrant.
