Clallam County Man Still Missing After Recent Snowstorms
Deputies are still searching for a man who vanished after heading to Port Angeles from Neah Bay Tuesday night.

PORT ANGELES, WA — Clallam County deputies are still searching for a 38-year-old man who went missing during storms that brought heavy snowfall to the Olympic and Kitsap peninsulas this week. According to investigators, Mathew Warren Dean has not been seen since he borrowed a family member's car in Neah Bay and headed for Port Angeles Tuesday evening. Q13 News reported more than 18 inches of snow fell in the Port Angeles area that night.
Family members told the sheriff's office they received a Facebook message Tuesday night, saying Dean's car was found in a ditch along Highway 112, southeast of Clallam Bay. The person who found the car said there were footprints along the side of the highway, heading back toward Neah Bay. Washington State Patrol was notified early the next morning and troopers found the vehicle, which appeared to have left the road during heavy snowfall.
Dean is described as a 38-year-old Native American man, about 5 feet tall, and weighing 155 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing black sneakers and dark-colored sweatpants. The sheriff's office said Dean's information was entered into a missing person's database, and deputies visited homes near where the car was found.
