Firefighters Rescue Dog After Fall Off Cliff Near Puget Sound

Cisco the dog got himself into trouble Monday night. Local firefighters stepped in to help him out.

FEDERAL WAY, WA - He's not quite a bad boy, but Cisco the dog did get himself into trouble on Monday night.

Cisco got stuck down a steep embankment near Puget Sound and had no way to get himself back up. South King Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and mounted a rescue.

Firefighters placed a ladder down the embankment, and then one firefighter climbed down to retrieve Cisco. The firefighters rigged a special rope system to hoist Cisco up the embankment.

The dog was reportedly uninjured and was returned to safety after only about a half-hour. The rescue happened along the 29000 block of 24th Avenue Southwest in Federal Way, which dead-ends at Puget Sound.
