Large Fire Burns Federal Way House Where 2 Women Were Shot
A massive fire broke out Monday morning at the site of a double-shooting earlier this month.

FEDERAL WAY, WA — King County fire investigators are working to learn what sparked a large fire at a former crime scene Monday morning. South King Fire crews were called to a house on Southwest 306th Lane in Federal Way shortly before 6:30 a.m. Photos and videos posted on social media showed an inferno well underway when they arrived.

Q13 News reported the address matched the house where two women were shot, one fatally, on Thursday, Dec. 19. The women's 85-year-old roommate was arrested and remains jailed on suspicion of homicide and assault.
Fire investigators said Monday's blaze took several hours to extinguish, and heavy damage to the structure slowed efforts to conduct a full search of the house. An investigation is underway to determine the source of the fire.
