KENT, WA — One person was shot during a suspected road rage incident near a Kent gas station Monday morning, according to police. Kent PD responded to an ARCO on the 21200 block of 84th Avenue North shortly before 7:30 a.m. Monday. Police said a 55-year-old man called 911 after several shots were fired, striking him once in the leg. When officers arrived a few moments later, they learned the suspect had already left the area.
Investigators said initial reports from witnesses described a man in a sedan driving away from the scene, heading north. Detectives were still interviewing people at the scene Monday morning. More information regarding the suspect's appearance or his vehicle was not immediately available. Police have not said what led up to the initial confrontation.
The injured man was taken to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment, and lanes in the area remained closed while the investigation continued.
