Rover.com surveyed pet owners and assembled a list of this year's trendiest Halloween costumes for dogs.

SEATTLE, WA — When it comes to dressing up your dog for Halloween, Elton John leads the pack in popularity this year, according to a survey by Seattle-based Rover.com. The pet care company surveyed 1,000 pet parents this year, finding more than half of dog owners planned to dress up their pups this Halloween. Overall, Rover found classic costumes, like ghosts or witches, and TV or movie references were the most common inspirations.

The same number or survey-takers said their dog would be an active part of trick-or-treating or handing out candy on Halloween night.
