PULLMAN, WA — Bryce Beekman, a senior defensive back for the Washington State University Cougars, died in Pullman on Tuesday, the university confirmed. He was 22 years old.

Police responded Tuesday to a phone call made at 5:44 p.m. from Beekman's apartment, reporting someone having "breathing problems," the Spokesman-Review reported. Beekman had already died once police arrived.

Authorities have not released any details about Beekman's death or the cause, but said that foul play is not suspected.
