Average Eastside Home Price Hits $900K In April, Up 20% From 2016

New Northwest Multiple Listing data show that home prices are skyrocketing across Puget Sound, but are most expensive on the Eastside.

BELLEVUE, WA - The average price of a home on the Eastside hit nearly $900,000 in April, according to the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, which is a new high. Eastside home prices in April were up more than 20 percent compared to April 2016, according to the data. The priciest homes - at a median cost of more than $2 million - were located in the eastern sections of Bellevue, including Medina.

The Eastside wasn't alone in price increases. All but two NWLS regions in King County saw price increases compared to last year, with the median home price in King County as a whole up nearly 16 percent compared to last year to $625,000.

The rise in home prices is compounded by a low inventory of available homes. The number of active listings is down across King County, and most areas have only about a month's worth of inventory available.
