1 Dead After Car Crashes Into Mountlake Terrace Home
South County Fire said one person died after a car crashed through a power pole and hit a house Monday morning.
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA — A car crashed through a power pole and a fence before hitting a house, killing one person inside the vehicle, in Mountlake Terrace Monday morning. According to South County Fire, first responders were called to the scene at 220th Street Southwest and 44th Avenue West shortly before 8 a.m.
Firefighters said the house caught fire after the crash, and one person inside the car died. A woman inside the home was hospitalized due to smoke exposure as a precaution. Photos posted by the fire department on social media showed the top section of a power pole completely separated from the bottom. Investigators have not said what led to the crash or how fast the vehicle was traveling.
