Snohomish County released its latest point-in-time snapshot of local drug overdoses this week.

EDMONDS, WA — The Snohomish Health District on Monday released the results of its annual point-in-time snapshot of drug overdoses in the county. Twenty-seven people overdosed on drugs — mostly opioids — during a one-week period in July, including two deaths.

The 2019 count was much lower than the count in 2018, when 57 people overdosed. Two of the 2019 overdoses happened in Edmonds. Everett and Snohomish saw a majority of the overdoses at 14 combined, however.
