3 Hospitalized, 1 Arrested After Shooting At Edmonds Store

The Edmonds Police Department has arrested a man suspected in a triple shooting off Highway 99.

EDMONDS, WA — Three people are hospitalized and a suspect in custody after a shooting at the Boo Han Market Tuesday afternoon, according to Edmonds Police.

The police department confirmed the shooting just before 4 p.m, and officers described a chaotic scene as bystanders fled the busy shopping center. In a news briefing an hour later, Edmonds Police Sgt. Josh McClure said officers immediately began first aid on the victims, who were found in the store's entryway. At least one victim's injuries were described as life-threatening.

Police said preliminary information indicates the shooter knew at least one of the victims, but to what extent was still unknown. All three victims are believed to be in their 30s and the suspect in his 20s. Detectives have not identified the shooting suspect but provided a basic description based on witness accounts.

"We believe, right now, there is a person with a gun who has shot three people," McClure said. "We don't know who that person is — it's not confirmed — we're working on some assumptions right now from people who have been shot here at the scene and some witnesses that experienced a very traumatic event."

Police said the suspect turned himself in at the Everett Police Department shortly after 8:30 p.m.

At the height of the response, McClure said more than 50 officers were at the scene, including those from neighboring agencies. Police K9s and helicopters continue to aid in the search.

The Edmonds Police Department said the highway and surrounding streets would remain closed or partially blocked near the 22600 block as the investigation continues.
