Boeing Takes Up 787 for Test Flight
The company says the flight of a 787 built for Polish Airlines is a normal production check and that the plane will fly again later this week to demonstrate a new fix for its troubled batteries.

The Boeing Co. announced Monday it would conduct a test flight of an undelivered LOT Polish Airlines 787, a normal production check not specifically related to the battery issues the company is having with the jet.
The Seattle Times reports that the flight was scheduled begin late Monday morning, taking off from Paine Field in Everett, where Boeing operates a final assembly plant for the 787.

Later this week the company plans on a formal certification flight to demonstrate to the FAA that the new battery system performs as intended.
