Boeing Takes Up Another 787, But Not For Battery Fix Certification

The routine 787-8 test flight took off from Paine Field Monday morning and was scheduled for two hours.

A Boeing 787-8 took off from Paine Field in Everett Monday for a routine, two-hour test flight unrelated to the battery issues the company has been dealing with in recent weeks.

Boeing hopes soon to certify with the FAA during test flights a solution to the smoking battery issues that have taken the big new jetliner out of service.
