Cold Weather Shelter Open In Lynnwood

Snohomish County's Emergency Cold Weather Shelter will open in Lynnwood from Thursday to Saturday at Maple Park Church.

LYNNWOOD, WA - In anticipation of severe cold weather striking the region this weekend, the Snohomish County Emergency Cold Weather Shelter will open in Lynnwood from Thursday to Saturday.

The Maple Park Church-based shelter, located at 17620 60th Ave. W. in Lynnwood, will open at 7:15 p.m. every day between Feb. 7 and 9. Dinner will be provided every night, along with a warm mat and blanket, and breakfast will be served every morning.

Anyone who needs transportation to the church shelter should meet at Lynnwood City Hall for pickup at 7 p.m. sharp. City hall is located at 19100 44th Ave. W. Additional pickup locations include the bus stop at Highway 99 and 196th Street Southwest at 7:05 p.m., and the Value Village sign at Highway 99 and 172nd Street Southwest at 7:25 p.m.

The transport van will also return to city hall every morning at 7 a.m.

For those who need the shelter's services, organizers ask that you not walk to the church but instead utilize the available transports.

National Weather Service forecasts currently show overnight lows dropping into the 20s and possibly the teens in some areas over the next few days. And daytime highs aren't expected to increase much more than the low 30s.
