Edmonds Man Arrested In Father's Murder, Police Say

Investigators said a 24-year-old man walked to the police station to report himself Tuesday morning.

EDMONDS, WA — A 24-year-old Edmonds man walked into a police station Tuesday morning and told officers he had killed his father, Edmonds Police said. According to officers, the man used a station call box to tell police he had committed a "premeditated homicide," shortly before 3 a.m. Officers visited the man's home, on the 18700 block of 84th Avenue W, and found a 64-year-old man with multiple stab wounds inside. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said family members told investigators the suspect had a history of mental illness. The 24-year-old was booked in the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder. According to Edmonds PD, the investigation remains active, but there were no further details available.
