Edmonds Motorists: Brown Bear Car Wash Gives Free Wash on Aug. 25

Edmonds drivers can head to Brown Bear Car Wash locations in Shoreline or Seattle.

If you have a dirty car, truck, SUV or van and like the concept of free - as in, you don't pay anything - be grateful for Thursday, Aug. 25 in the greater Seattle area.

Brown Bear Car Wash will celebrate its 54th anniversary by giving a free car wash from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the company announced Tuesday. The company is offering a free "Bear Essential" wash at its "tunnel" locations.

From Edmonds, the closest Brown Bear Car Wash with a tunnel is in Shoreline, at 16032 Aurora Avenue N. The Lynnwood location, at 206 164th St. SW, is self-serve and is not offering the special deal. The company also has a car wash in Everett and several locations in Seattle proper.

During the past five years, the company said, it has washed 105,640 vehicles during its annual event to mark the company's beginning.

"We've had an amazing response. It's a fitting way to say 'thank you' to our customers who have supported us over the years.  And hopefully we've introduced new customers to the kind of service and value we deliver year around," Brown Bear founder and owner Vic
Odermat said in a statement.

He launched the company in 1957 with a location on 15th Avenue West in Seattle.
