Edmonds Officer Rammed By Suspect During Traffic Stop

The officer tried to pull the man over just before 5 a.m. Wednesday near Olympic View Drive and Wharf Street.

EDMONDS, WA — An Edmonds police officer was rammed by a 27-year-old man early Wednesday morning during a traffic stop. The suspect was later found and arrested along with his two passengers.

The incident happened around 4:40 a.m. near Wharf Street and Olympic View Drive. The suspect backed his car "at a high rate of speed" into the officer's car, police said. The suspect fled, crashed again, and then kept going.

His car was found later along Locust Way in Lynnwood by Snohomish County deputies. Edmonds police brought a K9 dog to the scene. The suspect was found hiding in a tree and was arrested for eluding and vehicular assault. A 42-year-old Marysville man and a 28-year-old Brier woman in the car were arrested for outstanding warrants. The officer was not injured.
