Edmonds Police Arrest 'Prolific' Car Prowler

A 24-year-old Lynnwood man was booked connection with a series of car prowls in the Edmonds-Woodway and Five Corners areas.

EDMONDS, WA — Edmonds Police have arrested a 24-year-old Lynnwood man suspected in several recent car prowls in Snohomish County. According to investigators, officers were patrolling a residential neighborhood early Monday morning after several recent break-ins were reported in the area.

Police said a sergeant spotted the suspect around 2 a.m. riding a stolen bicycle. The man ran away on-foot, beginning an hourslong search involving several officers and police K9s.

According to police, the suspect was tracked to a motel room off Highway 99, where officers served a search warrant and arrested the man, along with a woman wanted on an unrelated warrant.

Investigators said more than ten bags of stolen property were recovered inside the motel room, including jewelry, electronics, mail and prescriptions. Detectives believe more than 20 victims had items stolen, and police are working to identify and contact the rightful owners.

Police are asking residents who recently had their vehicles broken into, but did not file a report, contact detectives at 425-407-3999.

The suspect will face charges related to vehicle prowls, theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.
