Edmonds Police Investigate Possible Child Luring Incidents
All three potential luring incidents involved a man driving a green sedan near a middle school. Detectives are hoping to find the driver.
EDMONDS, WA — Investigators in Edmonds and Lynnwood are investigating three separate reports of a man in his 30s approaching children near College Place Middle School.
Edmonds Police said the first incident was reported on Jan. 31 after a 14-year-old girl told officers a man driving an older, green sedan drove up next to her in the area of 206th Street Southwest and 76th Avenue West. The girl told police the suspect appeared to be a white man in his 30s with light facial fair. She said he motioned for her to come toward the car, but she ran away.
During the most recent incident, reported Feb. 10, a 6th-grade boy said a man driving a dark green 1990s Toyota drove next to him and rolled down his window before quickly driving off. The boy described the driver as a white man in his 30s, with brown hair, a medium-to-overweight build and ripped clothing. Police said the vehicle also had a passenger inside, who was a white male or female with long, matted, and bleached hair.
