Fire Department Responses in the Last Week
Here's a round-up of the past week at Snohomish County Fire District One.

Snohomish County Fire District 1 responded to 356 calls the week of March 3-9: 299 emergency medical aid calls, 19 motor vehicle collisions, nine fires, 11 service calls and 18 automatic fire alarms.
March 4
PEDESTRIAN HIT BY CAR. At 12:41 p.m., a pedestrian was hit by a car in the 12600 block of 4th Ave. W south of Everett. Firefighters transported the injured pedestrian to Swedish/Mill Creek.

 TRANSFORMER FIRE. At 6:49 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a fire in a transformer in the 21900 block of Old Poplar Way in Brier. The fire was out when they arrived, but power was out in the north end of Brier. Firefighters notified PUD.
 March 4

HOUSE FIRE. At 11:59 p.m., firefighters were dispatched to a house fire in the 1300 block of 126th St. SE. south of Everett near Silver Lake Two men were home when the fire broke out and safely exited the house. There were no injuries. The fire caused more than $200,000 damage. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s office determined the fire was most likely started by a cigarette.
 March 5
COLLISION. At 9:10 a.m., a woman in her mid-30s was injured when her car rolled on the off-ramp from northbound SR 525 to Highway 99 north of Lynnwood. Firefighters had to use extrication tools to cut the mangled car door open to free the woman from the wreckage. The woman, the sole occupant of the car, was transported by paramedics to Harborview Medical Center. Her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
 March 6
COLLISION. At 1:57 p.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Mill Creek after responding to a two-car collision at 13th Ave. W and 164th St. SW east of Lynnwood.
 DUMPSTER FIRE. At 2:42 p.m., firefighters extinguished a Dumpster fire at Chase Lake Elementary School in Edmonds.
 March 7
COLLISION. At 7 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a collision on southbound I-5 at 196th St. SW.
 March 8
COLLISION. At 5:13 p.m., firefighters responded to a two-car, head-on collision at 238th St. SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds. They transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds.
 March 9 At 8:11 a.m., firefighters transported one patient to Swedish/Edmonds after responding to a two-car collision at 228th St. SW and Highway 99 in Edmonds.
 Fire District 1 is the largest provider of fire and emergency medical services in Snohomish County, serving more than 200,000 residents in the unincorporated communities of Silver Firs, Eastmont, Mariner, Lake Serene, Picnic Point, Martha Lake, Mariner, Lake Stickney, Norma Beach, Hilltop, Hilton Lake and Pioneer Trails; the Cities of Brier, Edmonds and Mountlake Terrace; and the Town of Woodway.
