Pet Owner Cited for Leaving Dogs in Car for 4 Hours: Edmonds Police Blotter
In another incident, a man was nabbed trying to steal wheels and tires off a car in a car lot on Hwy 99.

March 27
- A man was caught at about 3 a.m. trying to steal wheels and tires off a vehicle in a car lot on Hwy 99.

- A student was arrested after a disturbance brought police to the school, where he was arrested for possession of a dangerous weapon. Police also seized a small amount of dried marijuana from the student. 23200 100th Ave. W.
- A shoplifting suspect was caught on video at a store at 24111 Hwy 99, and a witness got her license plate number.
- A dog owner was cited for two counts of animal cruelty after leaving two dogs locked in a vehicle for more than four hours on 5th Avenue in downtown. The pets were in obvious distress, the report said.
March 29
- Someone stole the tip jar from a coffee stand at 21408 Hwy 99.
- Several vehicle prowls were reported in the area of 8400 Maple Lane. At least one of the victim vehicles was unlocked, police said.
- A person was stopped by loss prevention officers at Top Foods while trying to hide merchandise and walk by the cash registers. He was cited for theft in the 3rd degree.
- A motorcycle was stolen and a storage trailer broken into on the 9600 block of 236th Street SW. The motorcycle was soon recovered down the street.
- Someone tried to smuggle 5 bottles of vodka beverages out of Safeway.

- A man was arrested for assaulting a hotel manager at 22127 Hwy 99.
- About 2 am, a hit and run of a parked car was reported. Police located the suspect, who was arrested for DUI.
- Canopy World at 21508 Hwy 99 was burglarized.
March 31
- Police received a report of items being stolen from the trunk of a car while it was parked overnight at the motel at 23916 Hwy 99.
- Graffiti was reported on the side of the Heritage House Condos on Walnut Street.
April 1
- Police responded to a residential burglary, targeting jewelry, at the 15800 block of 75th Place West.
- A man lied to and fled from police during a trespass investigation at a motel on Hwy 99. The man ran through a second business and tried to hide in the employee areas, but was caught and arrested, and booked into Snohomish County Jail.
April 2
- Police received a report of a burglary at a vacant home on the 23200 block of 75th Place West.
