Police Arrest Man Following Attempted Burglary

Edmonds Police responded to a residential burglary attempt this morning.

Edmonds Police took a young man into custody this morning after responding to an attempted burglary call.

Police encountered the 25-year-old man in the 1300 block of 6th Avenue after a resident reported seeing the suspect prowling around homes on the block. The suspect visited three houses and attempted to kick in the front door of the third residence.

The residence's 35-year-old owner, who was inside the house, came out to confront the man. The two engaged in a struggle and the suspect then fled on foot, leaving his backpack and hat behind. 

Edmonds Police officers and a Lynnwood Police K-9 unit located the suspect in the 9700 block of Edmonds Way and took him into custody.
