Speed Factor In Labor Day Boat Collision In Edmonds

The boat collision happened Monday night near the Edmonds ferry terminal, police said.

EDMONDS, WA — Three people were injured Monday evening when two motor boats collided in the downtown Edmonds area near the ferry terminal.

The collision happened just after 8:30 p.m. when a speeding motor boat ran into the back of a slow-moving pleasure boat, authorities said. The driver of the motor boat was injured, and two people on the other boat were evaluated for injuries.

The force of the crash ripped the motor off the pleasure boat, according to pictures from the scene.

Edmonds police did not immediately say if anyone will face fines or charges in connection to the incident.
