MONROE, WA — A group that that sells food to benefit charity medical care at the Evergreen State Fair was the victim of an apparent theft recently, according to KOMO. Now the Nile Shriners can't open a booth at the fair this year.

According to KOMO, someone took the Shriners' deli slicers, which means they can't make sandwiches to sell to support the Shriners Children’s Hospitals.

The Nile Shriners, based in Mountlake Terrace, raised $19,000 for Shriners Hospitals during the 2018 Evergreen Fair selling corn-on-the-cob and beef brisket sandwiches. The group also took in about $2,000 from people giving up tips and wages while working at the booths.
