Water From Construction Site Pours Onto Interstate 5
WSDOT crews cleared water from southbound lanes over the course of an hour Tuesday morning.

EDMONDS, WA — A large amount of water cascaded down onto Insterstate 5 Tuesday morning, apparently originating from a nearby Sound Transit construction site. WSDOT posted a traffic alert shortly before 9 a.m. Monday alerting drivers to use caution, give some extra room and take it slow heading south on Interstate 5, near 220th Street Southwest. The 220th on-ramp was also closed.
Video posted by the agency on Twitter showed cars making it through the mess, slowly but surely. It's not yet known what led to the water being spilled.
#Edmonds update: The water on southbound I-5 at 220th St SW is at the @SoundTransit construction site. We are working with them to remedy the situation. Take it slow passing through the area and be sure to increase your following distance.
