Volunteers Needed for Chamber Visitor Center

The summer travel season is right around the corner and the Enumclaw Visitor Center is looking for tourism-minded volunteers to help promote Enumclaw to visitors coming to the Mt. Rainier area.

Last summer, the Visitor Center was able to be open seven days a week thanks to the help of volunteers. It returned to closing on Sundays in October 2012 as the summer season ended but organizers hope to be able to again open every day of the week during the high tourist season.

Beginning in May, four volunteers are needed to cover two-hour shifts (12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Mondays; 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. plus 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., both on Saturdays.)

Additional two four-hour shifts for Sundays needed to be filled (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.)

Volunteer duties will include greeting guests, providing travel suggestions, and answering general questions about the area, in addition to occasional, light administrative projects.
