Avoid Harmful Algal Bloom At Lake Wilderness
King County has placed warning signs near the water at the Maple Valley park.

MAPLE VALLEY, WA - King County issued a warning Tuesday about potentially toxic algal blooms at Lake Wilderness Park. The county is reporting that there are visible algal scums on the surface of the lake, and will place warning signs near waterfront access points.
Toxic algal blooms can produce toxins that are harmful to humans and animals. In severe cases, toxic algae can cause death. The blooms are particularly dangerous for pets because they might enter water that humans would recognize as risky.
King County also warned Tuesday of toxic algal blooms spotted at Arrowhead Point in Kenmore.
