Terri Horton of Puget Sound Draperies, an award-winning fabric artist with her work room in Enumclaw, once again is recognized for her expertise and artistic expression. She has been asked by the International Window Coverings Expo (IWCE) to present two seminars at their next show in Las Vegas, Feb. 4-6, 2014. She will also be conducting mini seminars at the IWCE Construction Zone and making a drapery vignette which is one of the highlights of the Construction Zone.
Terri's two seminar topics will be:
1) The Little Black Dress (This is a take-off of the fashion concept of how to change your look with accessories but now applying the same concept to the drapery panel.) “I will be demonstrating how to change the look of the basic drapery panel by changing the accessories and showing interchangeable pieces to change out the skirt of the panel and the headers to create different looks,” says Terri.
2) Targeting New Clients with a Trunk Show (She demonstrates a mini-trunk show with several stops to show actual invitations, themes, set ups and display ideas, and how a trunk show flows.)
The Little Black Dress one hour seminar is first being premiered at Studio 54 Furniture and Art Gallery at 5:30 p.m.on Thursday, November 14th and interested parties can sign up by calling or emailing the gallery. Terri is also one of the featured artists at the gallery's September 26 show “Chase Away the Gray Days” and she will be available to answer questions about the seminar, or any other window fashion design elements you wish to discuss. Her specialties are drapery, bedding, pillows, lampshades, throws, headboards and more.
The other exciting news about Terri is she has been selected by Window Fashions (Window Fashions Vision Magazine) to be an online instructor for their drapery workroom certification program. The Window Fashion Certified Professionals Program is the premier education and certification program offered for design professionals specializing in custom window coverings. Since 1990, WFCP has been educating and certifying professionals in the complex area of window coverings.
Studio 54 is very fortunate to have the talents of Terri displayed in our gallery. Terri was the 2012 Recipient of the National Custom Home Furnishings Alumni Showcase Award. Her window treatment was on display at the International Window Coverings Expo in Chicago, along with featured articles in several trade magazines.
