Enumclaw Commemorates Domestic Violence Awareness Month with Purple

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month across the nation.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month across the nation. LINCCK CIVILITY • COMPASSION • KINDNESS is organizing a Community Tree and Street Lighting on Tuesday, October 1st from 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm on the corner of Cole St & Initial Ave. The Enumclaw High School Drama Department will perform skits bringing awareness to domestic violence and how it can be prevented. Trip Hart, LINCCK Chairperson, will speak about how our community responds to domestic violence. The public is encouraged to attend and learn what is domestic violence, how it can be prevented, and to send the message that… Domestic Violence Has NO Place In Our Community

Enumclaw businesses and residents can help raise awareness of domestic violence by participating in Purple Light Nights ® that started in Covington in 2007 and has spread to 24 states, three Canadian provinces and Guam. The tree, downtown street poles and several businesses will have purple lights strung, and others are encouraged to participate. LINCCK, a committee of the Rainier Foothills Community Health Network, encourages positive behaviors and social interactions that will decrease violence in our society. For more information or to purchase your own purple lights, please call LINCCK at 360-825-5581.
