Information from the city of Enumclaw

Enumclaw Arts Commissioner, artist, and world traveler Patrica Doyle exhibits her path to art renewal. It’s the result of personal passion, developed skills, analytical thinking, and hard work. With outstanding traditional skills, Patricia Doyle follows her desire to experiment with new media and new techniques. Pat’s work has recently gone another colorful direction, and we’re proud to present her new work in this current exhibit at Enumclaw’s City Hall Gallery 2013.

Biography of Patricia Doyle

Born in Austin, Texas, Patricia grew up in the small town of Granger, where her grandparents lived. She attended the University of Texas and met and married her husband, Leo Doyle, who was in flight school at the time. Together, they had four children, traveling and residing all over the world including Iran, Europe, Mexico, and the United States.

It wasn’t until Patricia was living in Iran that she realized her passion for art and began to experiment with oil painting. She continued to develop her talent, taking art classes in Iran and continuing this love of art for the next fifty years.

After retirement, Patricia and Leo moved to Mexico where they stayed for 6 years. While there, Patricia attended art school at the Instituto de Allende, which later became a branch of the Art Institute of Chicago. She also studied with the famous portrait painter, Don Stewart, at his studio in San Miguel. During that time, she was commissioned to exhibit her artwork in a one-woman show at the Bellas Artiste.

Following the death of her husband, Patricia moved to Enumclaw to be close to her daughter and son-in-law. Through the Arts Alive community, she has made numerous friends and acquaintances and continues to paint and exhibit at the Arts Alive Gallery.
