One Killed in House Fire in Southeast King County
Fire investigators believe it was likely an accidental electrical fire.

Area media including KIRO 7 reported Wednesday afternoon one person was killed in a house fire in southeast King County.

King County Sheriff's Sgt. Cindi West tweeted at about 5 p.m. the fire was reported at about 3:45 p.m. and one person was found dead in the fire on the 19500 block of Green Valley Road.

West updated shortly before 8 p.m. that fire investigators believe this was likely an accidental electrical fire.
Tim Perciful, a spokesperson for Mountain View Fire and Rescue (KCFD #44) indicated this was the third fire the department has responded to in three days. On Monday at about 1:40 p.m., KCFD #44 firefighters responded to SE 373rd St in Auburn for a barn/storage/shop fire, he said. No people or animals were inside. Crews with assistance from other units including Enumclaw fire, assisted in the response as there were no hydrants in the area. The fire was reported tapped at 3:31 p.m. and the cause was still under investigation.

A separate fire, also on Monday, was reported at a substation fire at 30725 SE Retreat-Kanasket Road and caused dark smoke to rise high enough it could be seen from Enumclaw. No injuries were reported in that fire.
