'Police Academy' Star Michael Winslow Performing In Enumclaw

ENUMCLAW, WA - The "man of 10,000 sound effects" and a star of the "Police Academy" movies Michael Winslow will appear at the Chalet Theater in Enumclaw on Saturday.

Winslow - who is originally from Spokane - will give a stand-up performance featuring his ability to mimic a wide range of sounds. His sound effects abilities were showcased in movies like "Spaceballs" and the "Police Academy" series.

Winslow's performance is all-ages, but the event website says that it's also R-rated. The show starts on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. You can purchase tickets here.

According to his biography, Winslow developed his ability to make a wide range of sound effects while growing up on Fairchild Air Force Base near Spokane. He didn't have many friends on the base, and took to imitating his surroundings.

Outside the "Police Academy" movies - he starred as Sgt. Larvelle "Motor Mouth" Jones in all seven movies in the franchise - Winslow has appeared in several Cheech and Chong movies, as well as "Gremlins" and more recently in "Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!"
