2 Bodies Found, Believed To Be Missing Enumclaw Teens
The King County Sheriff's Office said the pair had been hiking in the Mud Mountain Dam area. There were no immediate signs of foul play.
ENUMCLAW, WA — Search and Rescue crews found two bodies near a trail Tuesday morning while searching for a teenage couple reported missing in Enumclaw over the weekend, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. 17-year-old Aleecia McAskill and 18-year-old Austin Grote were last seen at the Enumclaw Safeway Saturday afternoon.
Investigators said family members of the teens called police Sunday morning after the pair failed to return from a planned hiking trip near Mud Mountain Dam, southeast of Enumclaw. A sheriff's office spokesman said the parents feared they were not properly equipped for the weather.
Search teams canvassed the area daily since the teens were reported missing, and deputies found Grote's car along Mud Mountain Dam Road on Sunday afternoon.
