Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Enumclaw Area

Anywhere between 5 and 10 inches of snow is expected to fall in the Cascades above 3,500 feet in Lewis and Pierce counties Tuesday.

ENUMCLAW, WA - A winter weather advisory for the Cascades in Lewis and Pierce counties will include Enumclaw, according to the National Weather Service. The advisory was issued around 3 a.m. Tuesday and will be in effect from 6 a.m. through 6 p.m.

Weather forecasts show 5 to 10 inches of snow expected to fall above 3,500 feet in elevation, especially around the Crystal Mountain ski area and Paradise on Mount Rainier.

The advisory warned there may be periods where travel is challenged by limited visibility and wind gusts that could reach upward of 30 mph in some areas.

Lower elevations can expect a significant amount of rain.

Considerable precipitation and temperatures between 35 and 40 degrees will likely follow Tuesday's winter storm, which is expected to clear out by Friday, with forecasts showing the chance for a partly sunny day Jan. 11.
