Octopus, Tom & Jerry Among Winners for Chalk the Harbor
The popular, free family event generated a record 149 entries as chalk artists of all ages competed in seven different categories.
The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance announced the winners of the 2013 Chalk the Harbor competition, which took place on July 20.
The popular, free family event generated a record 149 entries as chalk artists of all ages competed in seven different categories.
Congratulations to the following contestants who will receive a Certificate of Award for winning the category they competed in:

- Age 6 & Under: Audrey White for the pretty “Fish & Flowers” artwork she created.
- Ages 7 – 10: Elena Lillie for the beautiful maritime themed art she created on the corner of Rosedale and Harborview sidewalk
- Ages 11 – 13: Hadassah Ward for the special “Tom & Jerry” artwork she created on the Eddon BoatYard sidewalk
- High School/College: Kylie Hunter for the Octopus on the Bridge artwork she created at the Threshold Building
- Family: The Sikes Family for the colorful collage they created on the sidewalk in front of Skansie Park.
- Adult: Raquel Brewer for the creation of “Mike” from Monsters Inc., on the Eddon Boatyard sidewalk.
- Best Maritime Theme: Isabella Dahlgren, for the art she created in the Finholm District, featuring Destiny Harbor Tours heading out under the Narrows Bridge
