Cushman Trail To Be Extended In Gig Harbor
Construction will begin on June 10 and will last for most of the summer, according to Pierce County.
From Pierce County: Work on a new segment of the Cushman Trail along 14th Avenue Northwest will begin June 10. The work is expected to be completed by early August.
The 812-foot-long segment will run from the Cushman Trail trailhead on 14th Avenue Northwest to 300 feet north of 29th Street Northwest.
The segment will be 6-feet wide and will be made of porous hot mix asphalt to help reduce surface water runoff. There will be 1-foot wide shoulder on each side of the trail and a 6-foot wide drainage ditch between the edge of the trail and the existing paved shoulder.
Work hours will run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. 14th Avenue Northwest may periodically be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic during work hours. Traffic will be controlled by flaggers during those times.
