Deputies Catch Serial Mail Burglar Wanted In Three Counties
Deputies say they've captured a man who was wanted for breaking into post offices in Pierce, Mason and Kitsap counties.
GIG HARBOR, WA — Kitsap County deputies and U.S. Postal Inspection Service say they've caught a serial burglar who broke into several post offices across three Washington counties.
Late last month the Pierce County Sheriff's Department raised the alarm about the burglar after he broke into the Lakebay post office and made off with "numerous" packages and a smattering of mail. At the time, deputies said they believed he was responsible for similar break-ins at post offices in Allyn, Tracyton, & Manchester.

According to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Kitsap County deputies identified and arrested a 41-year-old man for the break-ins on Tuesday. Law enforcement says it took a collaboration between several agencies like the Piece County Sheriff's Department, the Clallam County Sheriff, WESTNET and the Postal Inspection Service working together to catch the suspect. Now that the accused burglar has been arrested, officers say they are continuing their investigation to try to determine exactly how many crimes this one man may be responsible for.
