Firefighters Battle Gig Harbor Brush Fire
The fire briefly threatened buildings in the area, but has been contained.

GIG HARBOR, WA — Firefighters have contained a small brush fire that threatened several structures Friday afternoon.
According to Gig Harbor Fire, the blaze kicked up around 4300 Borgen Road and quickly grew to about a quarter of an acre in size before their crews could get on scene. Once they arrived however, crews managed to quickly contain the fire with the assistance of the Gig Harbor Police Department.
As of 5:30 Friday, firefighters are still on scene digging lines around the fire and extinguishing any remaining hot spots. The cause of the blaze is unknown.
