Gig Harbor Brewing Celebrates 3rd Anniversary With 'Shindig'

TACOMA, WA — To celebrate its third year in business, the Gig Harbor Brewing Company on Saturday will host a "three-year anniversary shindig" at its Tacoma Taproom & Brewery.

Opened in 2015, the Tacoma taproom was apparently not expected to succeed at its location on South Tacoma Way. However, it did so well, in fact, owner John Fosberg was able to open a second taproom-only location in the company's namesake at 3155 Harborview Dr. in April 2018.

Now the brewery sees its fare distributed in 13 Northwest Washington counties.

To celebrate its continuing — and evidently unexpected — success, Fosberg invites beer enthusiasts and local residents to share in food, drink, raffles, and more beginning at 5 p.m. Nov. 17.

"I can't believe it has already been three years," Fosberg reportedly told Washington Beer Blog's Kendall Jones earlier this week. "It feels like 30 (years), and I've never worked so hard in my life."

Live music from Kristen Marlo, giveaways, and new brews are on the menu for this special "Big Gig: Part III" event at 3120 S. Tacoma Way this weekend.
