Gig Harbor Redoubles Call For Parks Commission Volunteers

Gig Harbor is looking for a volunteer to serve on the Parks Commission and help make important decisions for local parks and rec facilities.

GIG HARBOR, WA — The City of Gig Harbor is putting out the call - once again - looking for a volunteer to serve the Gig Harbor Parks Commission.

The city has been seeking someone to fill the position since May. Commissioners help the city make important decisions regarding park development and maintenance, land acquisition, and other operational matters.

The commission meets at 5:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month.

The only requirement is that volunteers have to live within the city limits or within Gig Harbor's Urban Growth Area in nearby unincorporated Pierce County.

Anyone who is interested in volunteering must submit an application online by the end of June. More information on the open positions can be found by contacting the City Clerk's office at cityclerk@gigharborwa.gov.
